Advertisements.

I am receiving video commercials right before the game starts to load. The problem is that some of the advertisements eventually end and the game starts to load but sometimes with other commercials the screen freezes and the game never loads up.

 

Can you tell what commercials are doing this, so I can report that for team.

 

I can't say exactly because I can't see the whole commercial but the one with the people on the boat at night, I think it is an advertisement for a movie, that is the one that stalls at the beginning. Basically, this particular commercial says that I can skip the commercial in 5 seconds but the countdown only reaches about 2 or 3 seconds before it freezes up.

 

Hmmmm I'm wondering if some adware rode in on your Skyrama program, Fly...
I had it happen on my Netflix program one time, and it took some doing to chase it down by myself and netflix.
What this adware does it get into your system and initializes itself into your most used sites, hijacking your time to watch an ad that usually doesn't run right, and it messes up your program to boot.

You might try scanning your computer for adware and malware and see what comes up.

That is good advice I should do that more often. Fortunately the game isn't stalling on the advertisements anymore.

 

I have noticed the same thing happening and I reported it this week. It seems to be only the local ads that pertain to the elections in my area (Alaska). National ads like Pizza Hut do not seem to cause the issue.

 

If ads start showing up all of a sudden on a site that doesn't normally have advertisements on it, it's usually some sort of adware you picked up and not the fault of the site you're visiting. Sometimes a site can help you by tightening up their coding to prevent the adware from getting in, in the first place. But it's already in your computer to begin with at that point.

It's bad enough to be inundated with ads everywhere else you go, but to get them on progams on your computer that you chose NOT to have ads is ridiculous.

I've made it a point to EMail advertisers when I get an unsolicited ad anywhere, and tell them that because they have invaded my privacy (and I'll give them when and where), that I will no longer be buying their products and I will recommend that the people I associate with not buy them as well.
I also let them know I do not appreciate their use of hackers to invade my computer with their adware so that they can phish for my personal information on where I go in the web.

This usually has the desired effect, you get a profuse apology, and the company goes after the adware people who put it up in the first place.
To top it off, the ads usually will disappear.

I realize businesses out there are needing every dollar they can get from as large a demographic as possible, but I draw the line at using hackers to invade my personal items, as my computer and smart phones, etc. To me, it's unscrupulous and rude... what next? Will I be taking a shower one day and all of a sudden see advertisements on my shower curtain? LOL!

This is not an adware issue, it is an issue with the in-game video advertisements that are playing when you first log in. Skyrama even posted a notice about these called "Pre-Roll-Videos". The game is locking up at the end of the videos and not loading, so we have to keep reloading the page and waiting for the videos to play again before the game actually loads.
