What is being done to bring in more players?

    1) Getting a real time text chat
    2) Getting a real time audio vox
    3) Creating Airline Alliances to build teamwork
    4) Marketing the game virally

    Can these options be done?

Going to be bit of a rant here, so sorry Pinfall!
I have literally no idea where the new players come from. I can't even remember where or I found the game many, many, many moons ago, but despite the flash issues, or all the other issues (and there's a couple!!!), there has always seemed to be an influx of new players from somewhere.
However, that is not where the issue lies for me.
For me, attracting any new customer is only the very first step. The sunk cost fallacy is step 2, and the final step is keeping the customers long-term.
To keep the players is all about step 2 for me. Getting people to invest their own resources (time and money, essentially) in the game. For the game to become socially and emotionally rewarding, I do honestly feel that suggestion #3 should become a priority within the game.
Alliances and/or Teams would be a complete game changer and add a huge layer within the game, which honestly is needed. It could be done on top of any underlying events. Could be daily, weekly, even monthly tasks, and of course there would need to be appropriate rewards to make it worthwhile.
Adding an alliance/team chat channel within the game would be welcome too.
If they can get that done correctly well, then I honestly do feel that many many players will stay for the long haul.

I reckon I have about 300 buddies/friends who have given up during the early levels, as once you get over the first few levels, the game just is not as engaging as many others.
