    Hello Airport Managers,

We frequently receive inquiries about the future of Skyrama. These are always forwarded. This includes the question: Questions about Skyrama 2.

We received the following answer to your questions, which we are passing on to you here:

    Hello dear Community,

The moderators brought this thread to my attention and I would like to personally respond.

First of all, thank you for your attention, your questions, and also for your concerns. The fact that Skyrama means so much to you shows how much passion has been invested in this game over many years, and that is something we truly value.

It is true that over the past twenty years, Bigpoint has repeatedly explored ways to further develop existing brands and create new games based on established IPs. This does not only apply to Skyrama, but to other titles as well.

I personally accompanied a Skyrama 2 development back in 2013. That project was eventually discontinued due to various challenges, including technical ones. In later years, there were again creative explorations within the Skyrama universe. Different ideas and concepts were developed over a longer period of time, and some of the screenshots shown here may originate from that phase. Ultimately, those approaches were also not pursued further.

Last year, we made another attempt to revisit the Skyrama theme. The intention was to develop a completely new game based on the brand. A funding application was submitted and approved for this project.

However, it is very important for me to clearly state the following: this is not a classic Skyrama 2. There are no plans to shut down or replace Skyrama. SR2 was merely a working title. The new project is positioned in a different genre and is not intended to compete with the existing Skyrama.

Many strong brands today expand into different genres and gameplay styles. Nintendo is a well known example of this approach. We are also regularly evaluating which of our brands could serve as a foundation for new ideas. This includes titles that have been inactive for several years, such as Zoomumba, Fantasyrama, or Rising Cities.

As for Skyrama itself, there have been some very positive developments in recent years. Thanks to the exceptional commitment of dedicated team members, we were able to implement improvements, introduce new aircraft and buildings, and create full scale events. Your feedback confirmed that this effort was worthwhile. That is something we do not take for granted.

For this year, we are planning additional events and new content. At the same time, we are working on establishing a sustainable economic model that will allow us to maintain long term stability and enable further improvements to the game. We understand that reliability, stability, and technical robustness are crucial for you.

I can assure you that there are people behind Skyrama who genuinely care about this game. Many of us have been connected to it for years. Our shared goal is to ensure that Skyrama continues to have a future.

There are no concrete plans to discontinue Skyrama or replace it with a new game. On the contrary, we have already been working intensively for several weeks on a major new event planned for March, and we truly hope you will enjoy it.

And very honestly, Skyrama lives through you as well. Through your passion, your feedback, and your ideas. If there is anyone in the community with strong programming skills, a solid understanding of the Skyrama code, and the motivation to contribute to its future, we would be happy to hear from you.

Thank you for your loyalty and your trust.
